The Zambian Kwacha is the official currency of Zambia. The currency code for Kwacha is ZMW. There are banknotes with denominations of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Kwacha. There are coins of 10, 20 and 50 ngwee, as well as 1 kwacha coins. The American dollar is accepted in a number of commercial stores, restaurants, hotels and service stations. It is possible to change the foreign currency in banks and exchange houses. ATMs can be found in almost every city in the country and most are connected to the Visa and MasterCard / Maestro, American Express and other networks.
